Frequently asked questions
How many guests
can eat there at once?
The outdoor pavilion comfortably seats around 60 guests for dining at a time, with a maximum of approximately 70. The space is mainly in use during the summer season.
The dance floor can seat approximately 30–45 guests for dining. The space is semi-heated, warmed by patio heaters.
The warm smoke sauna cabin can accommodate a maximum of 15 guests.

Can you bring your own alcohol to the celebrations?
Yes you can. We do not hold a liquor licence, so we are unable to sell or provide alcoholic beverages.
Is there a time limit by which music must be stopped,?
There is no time limit. There are no neighbours nearby to disturb, and sound does not carry far from the hollow where the venue is located. If there is another guest group staying at the cottage, it would be considerate to keep them in mind.
How much refrigeration/cold storage space is available on site?
There are 6 refrigerators in total at the venue. The smoke sauna cabin has 2 full-height cooling cabinets, the celebration pavilion has one refrigerator with a small freezer compartment, the dance floor has one small refrigerator, and the accommodation cottage has one refrigerator with a small freezer compartment. The dance floor also has a small chest freezer, which can be used for example to chill drinks. Additionally the cottage has a full-height cooling cabinet.
Additionally, old bathtubs and wheelbarrows serve as large coolers.
Are dishes/tableware available on site?
The smoke sauna cabin/kitchen has a comprehensive set of tableware for 30 people: plates, glasses, cutlery, coffee cups as well as wine, cognac, schnapps and sparkling wine glasses. There are also many different serving dishes, tongs, water jugs and more. Some pots and oven dishes are available. Large 10 and 15 litre pots are available to borrow - please request these separately as they are stored elsewhere.
For larger groups (over 30 people) we recommend borrowing tableware from a catering company or tableware rental service, due to the standard household dishwasher and limited water supply (sourced from a well).
Is the tap water drinkable?
Kaikista hanoista tulee juotavaa kaivovettä.
What does the kitchen equipment include?
The kitchen is equipped with a stove, coffee maker, kettle, microwave, 2 cooling cabinets, electric mixer, hand blender, 3 pump thermoses, grater, trays, cutting boards and the most common kitchen utensils. For larger celebrations and events there is also a large coffee urn available, capable of making 5–10 litres of coffee at a time.
Filter bags and paper towels are included in the rental.
Is it possible to borrow music equipment?
Through us you can rent a Partybox speaker and microphone for 65€ per day or 100€ per weekend.
Additionally through our partner you can rent a full sound system (mixing controller, speakers + setup guidance) and microphone for 120€ per weekend.
What are the toilet facilities like?
The experience village has 2 outdoor toilet buildings, each with 2 toilet cubicles. One of the toilets is built to accessible dimensions and has a ramp in front for wheelchairs and walking frames.
The newer toilet building next to the accommodation has electric lighting, while the older toilets are used by the light of USB-rechargeable lamps and candles.
The newer outdoor toilets have a handwashing station as well as a baby changing table and potty.
Toilet paper included.
The Torppa cottage has the only indoor toilet and shower on the property.
Are measurements or a seating plan available for the celebration pavilion tables?
Yes, from here you can view the seating plan. The entrance to the space is from the bottom right corner of the image, and the table along the right edge serves as a serving table. The brown circles are pillars, which are located at a few points in the middle of the tables.
Should we prepare for rainy weather?
Perhaps.. We currently have two 3 x 3 metre canopies in storage.
A large waterproof sun sail is available in front of the dance floor.
For warmth on cool evenings the venue has a large pile of green fleece blankets.
What about the electricity?
Electricity is permanently wired to the smoke sauna cabin, celebration pavilion, dance floor and accommodation facilities. Other spaces are supplied via extension leads, and there has never been a situation where the power has run out. The dance floor has several extension leads and cable reels available for your use.
Are bed linens included in the accommodation price?
They are not included unless separately agreed. All beds have duvets and pillows, but most guests bring their own bed linens. If you wish to rent linens from us the cost is 10€ per person, or 15€ per person including a towel.
Is there a booking deposit?
For summer celebrations we charge a booking deposit of 20% of the total amount. The remaining balance is due just before the event.
What can be sorted and recycled?
The experience village has a waste shelter with bins for
cardboard
plastics
metal
common waste
bottles and cans
glass
paper
green household waste
We do not require guests to sort their waste, but we certainly encourage it. =)
What else should we think about or take into consideration?
It is worth packing some lidded containers for leftover food if you wish to take it with you after the celebrations. If you do not take the food with you, any edible leftovers can be left in the refrigerator and we will see if we can find someone to eat them.
We do not encourage the use of disposable tableware due to the waste they generate. In the kitchen cupboards you will find washable plastic mugs as well as both plastic and metal drinking glasses. We do have some disposable tableware left by previous groups which you are welcome to use.
It is worth thinking about car parking arrangements, and it may be a good idea for someone to act as a parking attendant to ensure cars are parked in an orderly manner.
On the last stretches of road it is worth shifting your attention from the navigation system to the signposts along the roadside and following those to the destination. All visitors to Kettukallio turn from Karstuntie (1070) onto Joenpellontie, and only turn onto our driveway at the large map signpost. The number 145 is also visible at this junction.
PLEASE DO NOT drive to Kettukallio through the yard of Pohjola farm.even if your navigation system instructs you to do so.
